My name is Cheryl
Here are a few things about me, in no particular order:
-
I love dogs. When I was a child, I was deathly afraid of them, but isn't it often the case that overcoming fear leads to love?
-
I walk 12,000 steps per day, rain or shine. This is probably how I met you and your dog.
-
The dog you see in the photo is Charlie. He is no longer with us, but he was my second service dog. (As I develop this website, I'll put up a photo of Sage, my first service dog, and the strange story of how I met her and even purchased my house to be near her, but I need to think more about the site structure first. Remind me if this still isn't done by the first of the new year!)
-
I retired from the Army after a combat tour in Iraq. This is how I came to need a service dog. Now I'm in a much better place, and no longer need my own dog. These days, I focus on spreading love to other people's dogs!
-
I currently serve as treasurer on the South End Neighborhood Council. If you live in the South End, consider applying for a position on the board!
-
I am active at Anchor Church in Tacoma.
-
I cohost a weekly virtual Christian small group that loosely follows the Revised Common Lectionary. Know someone who's looking for Christian connection? Send me a note below.

My life is so strangely free from all trial and trouble, that I cannot doubt my own happiness is one of the talents entrusted to me to “occupy” with, till the Master shall return, by doing something to make other lives happy.
